Welcome

Supporting High-Achieving Adults Across Boston & NYC

Welcome! I’m Dr. Terán, a Harvard-trained psychologist with a private-pay, out-of-network practice in Central Square, Cambridge, MA. I work with professionals, graduate students, early-career individuals, and first-generation high-achievers in Greater Boston and New York who are seeking personalized, out-of-network therapy grounded in depth, discretion, and care.

My services are available both in person and via secure telehealth, serving clients across Massachusetts and New York.

Many clients come to me feeling stuck – grappling with anxiety, burnout, chronic self-doubt, depression, stress, or recurring challenges in relationships. As part of my therapy for professionals in Boston and NYC, our work goes beyond symptom relief. Together, we explore the deeper emotional and relational patterns that keep you feeling overwhelmed, so you can experience lasting change with greater self-understanding and trust in yourself.

Whether you’re navigating life transitions, seeking mental health support, healing from relational trauma, or exploring ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I offer personalized therapy for high-achieving adults in Boston and NYC – insight-oriented, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your privacy and experience.

Here's What You Can Expect When We Work Together in Therapy

Personalized Support

Feel seen, heard, and understood. Therapy is tailored to your individual history, values, and goals - no one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning after past experience, the work is shaped to meet you where you are.

Evidence-Based Techniques

I draw from research-backed methods to support meaningful, lasting change, combining practical tools with depth-oriented reflection. This includes modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and trauma-informed care.

Compassionate Care

Expect a calm, respectful space where your emotional experience is honored and your healing process is never rushed. Together, we’ll create a space that prioritizes your comfort and pace, especially when exploring difficult topics.

My mission is to compassionately guide you on a personalized journey of hope, healing, and transformation through innovative therapies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy provides a space to explore what’s beneath the surface – patterns, emotions, and life experiences that may be influencing how you feel, relate, or cope. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, identity-related transitions, or relational trauma, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and build lasting emotional resilience. I draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based approaches. For some, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, offers an additional pathway when traditional methods have not been enough.

I specialize in working with adults facing anxiety, depression, impostor syndrome, identity-related distress, relational trauma, and burnout. These concerns often emerge during life transitions – whether academic, professional, or personal – and can feel overwhelming or isolating. Our work will focus on both immediate support and deeper self-understanding.

I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College and completed advanced training at Harvard Medical School. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked in academic and clinical roles at institutions including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Cambridge Health Alliance, Boston University School of Medicine, and various Harvard-affiliated programs. My practice is grounded in evidence-based care and a deep understanding of the challenges high-achieving individuals face.

Sessions are 45 minutes long and take place in a private, supportive setting. You’ll have space to talk openly, reflect on current struggles, and explore how past experiences may be shaping the present. The pace is guided by your comfort and needs. Over time, we’ll work toward insight, emotional growth, and sustainable change.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. This is a low-pressure opportunity to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and explore whether working together feels right. If it doesn’t, I’m happy to refer you to trusted colleagues. To schedule, just send a message or call.

I’m in-network for student health plans at Tufts University and Boston College. For all other plans, I’m considered an out-of-network provider. Many clients receive partial reimbursement through their insurance’s out-of-network benefits. I provide superbills for monthly submission. It’s best to check with your insurance to confirm what’s covered.

Understanding the financial aspect of therapy is important. Here’s an overview of my pricing:

  • The 15-minute consultation is provided free of charge. It’s an opportunity for us to connect and determine if we’re a good fit for your needs.
  • The initial appointment involves a comprehensive psychodiagnostic evaluation to gain a deeper understanding of your story. This session is priced at $350.
  • Subsequent individual psychotherapy appointments typically last 45 minutes and are scheduled once a week. The cost per session is $300.

Payments can be made via credit card, cash, or check. A credit card is required to be kept on file for billing.

I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows are billed at the full session fee.

The Good Faith Estimate explains the expected cost of care for clients who are uninsured or not using insurance. You’ll receive this within 1–3 business days depending on when your session is scheduled. If charges exceed the estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the bill.
